62 PSV drivers suspended over safety violations, ordered to re-test by NTSA
NTSA directed that all the affected drivers undergo re-testing before they can return to service.
The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has suspended the licences of 62 public service vehicle drivers after a compliance review flagged multiple safety breaches across seven operators.
The Authority, in a notice on Tuesday, said the violations raised serious concerns and required urgent action.

The suspended drivers are from Tahmeed Express Limited with 23, Latema Travellers Bus and Safari Company Limited with 13, Meru Nissan Operators Sacco with 10, Moline Prestige Services Shuttle Limited with 6, MTrans Sacco Limited with 7, and Enabled Mashariki Investment Limited with 3, making a total of 62.
NTSA directed that all the affected drivers undergo re-testing before they can return to service.
It also instructed the operators to conduct road safety awareness training for all their drivers and present selected vehicles for inspection.
The Authority said the re-testing is part of its wider effort to make sure every driver has the needed skills to operate safely on the road.
NTSA added that more operators remain under review to confirm full compliance with road safety rules.
It noted that these steps reflect its continued focus on protecting passengers and other road users during the festive season.
“These actions highlight our firm and ongoing commitment to road safety, particularly during this festive period,” the Authority stated.
