Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud held talks with Kenyan President William Ruto in Narok during a one-day working visit to Kenya on Sunday, with discussions focusing on relations between the two neighbouring countries and issues affecting the region.
The meeting brought together the two leaders as Somalia and Kenya continue to engage on matters including security, trade, regional integration, and economic growth.
According to Villa Somalia, the discussions explored ways of enhancing cooperation between Mogadishu and Nairobi while addressing shared priorities.

In a statement released after the meeting, Villa Somalia said the two presidents reviewed the state of relations between their countries and exchanged views on developments within the region.
“The two leaders discussed ways to strengthen the bilateral relations between their countries and emphasised the importance of continuing cooperation and collaboration between Somalia and Kenya in promoting peace, stability, and development in the region,” the statement said.
Somalia and Kenya share a long border and have maintained ties in areas such as trade, transport, security, and diplomacy. The two countries also work together through regional bodies on issues affecting the Horn of Africa and East Africa.
The talks in Narok provided an opportunity for the leaders to assess ongoing collaboration and discuss areas where both governments can work more closely.
