Lamu Governor Issa Timamy held significant meetings with ambassadors from Oman, France, and Qatar in Nairobi this week.

The meetings aimed to explore potential areas of cooperation and investment opportunities for Lamu County, known for its rich cultural heritage and untapped economic potential.

Governor Issa's first stop was the Sultanate of Oman Embassy, where he met with Her Excellency Nasra Salim Al Hashmi.

Governor Timamy highlighted Lamu's strategic location along the Indian Ocean and its vast untapped resources in tourism, agriculture, and infrastructure development sectors.

Nasra expressed Oman's keen interest in exploring avenues for collaboration and facilitating dialogue between Omani investors and Lamu County authorities.

Following the fruitful discussions with Oman, Governor Timamy proceeded to meet with His Excellency Arnaud Suquet, the Ambassador of France to Kenya.

Against the backdrop of a blossoming partnership, they delved into potential areas of collaboration, including water management, healthcare, ICT, and cultural preservation.

Ambassador Suquet commended Lamu County's commitment to sustainable development and expressed France's readiness to support initiatives to foster economic growth and improve Lamu's residents' well-being.

Governor Timamy's diplomatic tour brought him to the Qatar Embassy, where he met with His Excellency Mohammed bin Mutair Al-Enazi.

They discussed potential investments in Lamu County's burgeoning sectors, including the blue economy, agriculture, livestock, tourism, and cultural exchanges.

Governor Timamy reiterated Lamu County's commitment to sustainable development practices and expressed his eagerness to collaborate with Qatar on mutually beneficial projects.

Ambassador Al-Enazi echoed these sentiments, highlighting Qatar's interest in investing in emerging markets and its desire to explore opportunities in Lamu County.

These meetings underscored Lamu County's commitment to leveraging international partnerships for sustainable development and economic growth.
