Kamukunji, Mathare & other Nairobi areas warned to brace for rains

KenyaMet expects the rains to pound between Friday, May 17 and Saturday, May 18.
The Kenya Meteorological Department has warned residents of Kamukunji and Mathare constituencies to brace for moderate to heavy rains over the weekend.
In its Nairobi Metropolis Forecast released today, KenyaMet expects the rains to pound between Friday, May 17 and Saturday, May 18.

"Prepare for light to moderate rains in some parts of the metro region. Isolated areas may experience heavy rainfall," KenyaMet stated.
Isolated areas expected to have moderate to heavy rains include Starehe, Makadara, Kamukunji, Embakasi North, Mathare, Dagoretti North, and Ruaraka.
Areas that may experience light to moderate rains include Dagoretti South and Embakasi West.
Areas that may experience light rains are Langata, Embakasi South, and Embakasi East.
Kiambu County
In Kiambu County, Gatundu North, Lari, Githunguri, Kiambaa, Kiambu, and Kikuyu may receive moderate to heavy rains.
Limuru, Kabete, Gatundu South, and Thika Town may receive light to moderate rains, while light rains may be experienced in Ruiru.
Kajiado
In Kajiado County, Kajiado North may experience light to moderate rains, while in Machakos County, Mavoko, areas within Matungulu and Masinga are expected to expect light to moderate rains.
