Kariobangi Sharks humiliates Posta Rangers as Tusker halts Ingwe's juggernaut

The Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) has now taken a break and will resume on April 6th
In just two rounds Posta Rangers have moved from boasting the 2nd-best defence in the FKF Premier League to having the 10th-worst defence in the competition after losing 5-1 to Kariobangi Sharks in their Round 24 fixture which was played at the Police Sacco Stadium in South C, Nairobi on Sunday 10 March.
That result from the day's early kick off came hot on the heels of the Mailmen's humiliating 4-0 loss to Gor Mahia in Round 23. In just two matches, they have conceded as may goals (9) as they did in their first 16 matches of the season.

Kariobangi Sharks started the demolition in the 15th minute through a Julius Masaba goal. The floodgates opened in the second half with Masaba completing his brace in the 49th minute before John Makwata made it 3-0 to the visitors in the 56th minute. Leon Otieno extended Sharks' lead in the 65th and Fortune Omoto scored in the 90th minute to complete the rout. Brian Otieno scored for Posta Rangers' in the 92nd but it was too little too late. The result leaves Posta Rangers 5th on the log with 39 points while Kariobangi Sharks have pulled away from flirting with relegation to 12th with 27 points.
Tusker 1-0 AFC Leopards
The Kenyatta Stadium, Machakos, saw yet another instalment of trinity that define certain occurences in Kenyan life - death, taxes, and Tusker FC getting the better of AFC Leopards. The Brewers put an end to Ingwe's nine-match unbeaten streak with a 1-0 victory that saw them string four consecutive league victories. Having won seven of their previous nine league matches before their encounter against Tusker, AFC Leopards had every reason to feel confident ahead of their clash against their bogey team but they had no response to John Njuguna's 35th minute strike. AFC Leopards hurtle back to the drawing while lying 8th on log with 34 points as Tusker reclaimed second spot from Bandari on goal difference. The Brewers and the Dockers are tied on 43 points.
Kakamega Homeboyz 2-0 Ulinzi Stars
Kakamega Homeboyz started life at the Mumias Sports Complex with an emphatic 2-0 victory over the underwhelming Ulinzi Stars. With Bukhungu Stadium closed for renovations ahead of plans to have ready to host CHAN 2024 matches, Abana Abeingo settled in quickly at their new homeground with Hillary Otieno giving them lead in the 45th minute. Brian Chala added a second in the 55th minute and even though the home team had Salim Hamisi sent off in the 86th minute, Kakamega Homeboyz had already done enough to secure a victory. The result saw Kakamega Homeboyz rise to 7th with 37 points while Ulinzi Stars remain 14th with 26 points.
Nzoia Sugar 1-1 FC Talanta
Unlike Kakamega and Tusker, Nzoia Sugar did not the reap the benefits of home comforts during the day's only 3 pm kick offs as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Talanta at the Sudi Stadium in Bungoma. It was another missed opportunity by the Sugarmen to improve their chances of surviving relegation. Alfred Tanui gave the visitors the lead in the 11th minute before Josephat Oyugi saved the blushes for the home team with an equalizer in the 61st minute.
Kenya Police FC 1-1 Muhoroni Youth
In the day's late kick off at the Police Sacco Stadium, Muhoroni Youth had their game plan figured out for a rare away victory in the capital city but their failure to hold on saw Police FC snatch a draw. Samwel Adebowale gave Muhoroni Youth in the 9th minute and looked set to register their 5th win of the season but Clinton Kinanga denied them the three points with an equalizer for the home side in the 75th minute. Neither team could find a winning goal and as such, Police FC could only secure enough points to rise to 4th place on goal difference while level on 39 points with Posta Rangers and Nairobi City Stars. Muhoroni Youth remain 16th with 22 points.
The league will take a four-week after this weekend fixtures with action resuming on April 6 with Round 25 matches.
