In an electrifying FKF Premier League encounter held in Machakos today, Gor Mahia clinched a crucial 2-1 win over Kariobangi Sharks, propelling them to the summit of the league.

Chris Alpha Onyango shattered the stalemate by putting K'Ogalo in the lead late in the first half, setting the stage for an intense second half.

Despite the defending champions holding their ground, Sharks orchestrated a late comeback, with Ghai Panchol levelling the score in the 82nd minute, injecting heightened excitement into the evenly matched contest.

The climax unfolded dramatically as striker Benson Omalla showcased his prowess, finding the back of the net with a precision finish in injury time, securing a valuable three points for K'Ogalo.

With this triumph, Gor Mahia now claims the top spot in the league with 27 points from 13 games. Following closely is Posta Rangers, trailing by two points and maintaining a one-point lead over third-placed Kakamega Homeboyz (24).
