Excitement crackled through Mandera County as Governor Mohamed Khalif officially launched the 2024 Elimu Kwa Wote bursary scheme, a colossal Sh850 million poised to lift over 100,000 students towards their educational dreams. It was a familiar melody for the county, an annual tune of hope that had already empowered 165,648 individuals since its inception.

Mohamed, his voice brimming with pride, spoke of education as the cornerstone of youth empowerment, the bedrock on which a brighter future for Mandera could be built. He pointed to the Mandera Technical Training Institute as a vibrant testament to this belief, where 382 out of 937 students, their eyes alight with ambition, now had the means to pursue technical expertise. Even those venturing beyond Kenyan borders wouldn't be left behind, the governor assured, as the Ward Bursary Fund proudly extended its reach to include students studying abroad.

Gratitude laced Mohamed's words as he acknowledged the invaluable support of scholarship initiatives from both the national government and corporate partners. But there was also a call, a subtle yet firm plea for a united front. The Elimu Kwa Wote, Governor Mohamed emphasized, wasn't just a government program; it was a communal initiative, requiring every instrument to play in harmony for its success. Drought, a harsh reality the county knew too well, wouldn't be allowed to steal the dreams of its young minds. Education, in its potent, empowering form, was the shield against such adversity.
