Somalia and the breakaway northern region of Somaliland have signed an eight-point memorandum, paving the way for future discussions. The meeting hosted by Djibouti President Ismail Omar Guelleh, brought together the Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mahamud and Somaliland leader Muse Bihi Abdi.
The communique was signed on behalf of the two parties by the Somali Interior Minister, Ahmed Maalim Fiqi and his Somaliland counterpart, Mohamed Kahin Ahmed.
