Interior Principal Secretary (PS) Raymond Omollo said the project is progressing steadily, with the stadium expected to be completed by the end of July.
He noted that the facility represents a major milestone in preparations for the tournament and will provide a world-class venue capable of hosting major international sporting events.
"The Raila Odinga International Stadium is nearing completion ahead of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), where it is expected to serve as Kenya's flagship venue in the continental showpiece," Omollo stated on Friday.
Designed for both football and rugby, the stadium is intended to deliver a world-class fan experience, with stands positioned close to the field of play to enhance visibility and atmosphere during matches.
Its distinctive architecture draws inspiration from Maasai shield and spear motifs, blending cultural heritage with modern engineering.
The facility also incorporates a hybrid playing surface, smart technologies, solar energy systems and rainwater harvesting infrastructure, reflecting efforts to develop a modern and sustainable sporting landmark.
Omollo said the State Department for Internal Security and National Administration continues to play a critical role in supporting the project’s delivery and future operations.
This includes coordinating multi-agency preparedness, event security planning, emergency response frameworks and crowd management systems required for a venue expected to host major international competitions.
The PS noted that the measures are aimed at ensuring the stadium meets international standards and is fully prepared to host large crowds during major sporting events.
