Kenya's Junior Stars dominated Somalia with a convincing 4-1 victory in a highly anticipated clash at the 2023 Council of East and Central Africa Football Association (CECAFA) Under-18 championship held at Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega County.
Somalia took an early lead when Abdihafid Abdi scored in the 19th minute. However, Humphrey Aroko swiftly levelled the score six minutes later, setting the stage for an intense opening 20 minutes.

Stanley Omondi then gave Kenya the lead with a spectacular curling effort with Aroko extending that lead six minutes into the hour. Star player Aldrine Kibet sealed the win for Junior Stars in the 74th minute with a powerful low shot that left the Somalia goalkeeper visibly upset.
