Samburu County is aiming for advancements in revenue collection by transitioning to an automated system. In collaboration with JamboPay, an innovative payment service provider, revenue clerks are currently undergoing training on the new automated system.

Jonathan Lengoloni, the Chief Officer for ICT and Economic Planning, highlighted that the digitised revenue collection system would help the county overcome challenges associated with the manual process. He expressed optimism that the new system would enhance efficiency and address issues related to revenue leakages.

"We are training them on various modules of the revenue collection system ahead of the launch of the new system, which we expect to significantly boost our revenue collection," stated the Chief Officer.

The Chief Officer for Revenue Collection and Resource Mobilisation emphasised the effectiveness of the e-payment system, noting that revenue would be directly deposited into the county's revenue bank without any pilferage.

Furthermore, he mentioned plans to conduct similar training for revenue clerks in Kisima, Suguta Marmar, Baragoi, Wamba, and Archer's Post, ensuring comprehensive coverage for all clerks involved in revenue collection across the county.
