The livestock were reportedly stolen earlier that day, prompting a swift response from the security team.
"Upon receiving the livestock theft report, the security team quickly mobilised and launched a coordinated pursuit to recover the animals and arrest the perpetrators," said NPS.
According to police, the suspects abandoned the goats in Kaakali Village, located in the Kalemngorok area, after realising that security officers were pursuing them.
The animals were later transferred to a nearby GSU camp for safekeeping, pending verification and collection by their rightful owners.
"After realising they were being tracked, the suspects abandoned the stolen goats at Kaakali Village in the Kalemngorok area," said the NPS.
"The recovered animals were escorted to the GSU camp in Nakwamoru, where they await collection by the rightful owner."
Authorities have since launched investigations to identify and apprehend those behind the theft.
The recovery comes amid growing concern over increased cases of livestock theft and banditry in Kenya's arid and semi-arid regions. West Pokot, Turkana, and parts of Baringo have been hotspots for cattle rustling and inter-community raids, often leading to loss of life and displacement.
Further, NPS reiterated its commitment to working with local communities, government agencies, and other security actors to combat crime.
The National Police Service remains committed to working closely with communities and other government agencies to combat banditry, cattle rustling, and other crimes," said NPS.
