In addressing the persistent traffic issues in Nairobi, the new expressway exit promises to streamline the flow of vehicles, particularly from Capital Centre to the Haile Selassie roundabout, offering a more efficient and time-saving route for commuters.
Reflecting the government's dedication to developing Kenya's infrastructure, Cabinet Secretary Murkomen emphasized ongoing collaborations with both local and international investors and contractors. These partnerships, operating under the Public-Private Partnership model, aim to execute various projects such as the Rironi-Mau Summit road project and the Kiambu Road expansion project. This approach is envisioned to curtail government expenditure on road construction and mitigate the burden of public debt.
In attendance at the launch were key figures in the infrastructure development sector, including Roads PS Eng. Joseph Mbugua, KENHA DG Kung'u Ndung'u, and Moja Express CEO Steve Zhao.
As Nairobians grapple with perennial traffic challenges, the new expressway exit has sparked reactions from the public. Commuters are hopeful that the infrastructural improvement will significantly ease their daily commute, providing a smoother and faster journey through the bustling city. The sentiment among Nairobians is optimistic, with many expressing relief and anticipation for a positive impact on their daily lives.
In the words of one commuter, "This new expressway exit is a game-changer for Nairobi traffic. I'm looking forward to a more streamlined commute and less time spent in traffic jams." Another driver remarked, "It's great to see the government taking steps to address our traffic woes. This exit is a step in the right direction for a more accessible and efficient city transport system."
