Under this renewed codeshare agreement, travellers are set to benefit from increased flexibility and seamless connections via Bangkok and Nairobi to various sought-after destinations.

Kenya Airways (KQ) announced the renewal of its codeshare partnership with Vietnam Airlines, aiming to enhance the customer experience and expand travel options.

The national carrier shared this development on Thursday, highlighting the benefits of the collaboration for passengers.

"The codeshare partnership between Kenya Airways and Vietnam Airlines will allow customers to enjoy flexibility and choice with smooth connections via Bangkok and Nairobi to points such as Johannesburg, Cape Town, Dar es Salaam, Kisumu, Entebbe, Kigali, and Mombasa, among others—perfect for leisure and business travellers or those visiting family or friends," stated KQ in an official statement.

Under this renewed codeshare agreement, travellers are set to benefit from increased flexibility and seamless connections via Bangkok and Nairobi to various sought-after destinations.

Operating flights three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays, Kenya Airways utilises its popular B787-8 Dreamliner aircraft, promising passengers a comfortable and enjoyable travel experience.

Travellers heading to Vietnam will now be able to connect to Hanoi and Saigon through Kenya Airways services in Bangkok, offering a seamless travel experience.

The carrier resumed its services to Bangkok in November 2023, providing three weekly flights on its B787-8 Dreamliner aircraft.

"Travellers can buy single-ticket itineraries on Kenya Airways’ flights for their entire trip and take advantage of hassle-free flight benefits, including the airline’s baggage allowance, in addition to convenient bag check-through to the final destination," KQ added.

Kenya Airways and Vietnam Airlines are members of the SkyTeam Global Airline Alliance, allowing frequent flyers to earn miles on both airlines, with Elite Plus travellers benefiting from SkyPriority services.

This announcement follows Kenya Airways' recent codeshare deal with Air Europa, the third-largest Spanish carrier.

The agreement expands travel options, enabling Air Europa passengers to fly to Nairobi from Amsterdam and Kenya Airways guests to access Madrid, Palma de Mallorca, New York, and Miami.

"The agreement has significantly expanded customers' travel options by providing access and convenience, as guests will enjoy benefits such as the purchase of a single ticket, a single check-in, and connections with minimum waiting times, among others," KQ stated.
