Kenya Airways strategically deploys its fleet of 234-seat Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners on its most popular routes to Europe and North America.

Kenya Airways, the national carrier, has released its schedule for June, showcasing its Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner routes with the most available seat miles (ASMs).

The airline operates the Boeing 787-8 as its only wide-body aircraft, offering unparalleled comfort and efficiency on long-haul flights.

Kenya Airways strategically deploys its fleet of 234-seat Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners on its most popular routes to Europe and North America, according to data from Cirium, a leading aviation analytics firm.

Established in 1977, Kenya Airways, the national flag carrier of Kenya, operates a network of scheduled flights to 44 global destinations, utilising a fleet of 35 aircraft, including three dedicated cargo planes. Its wide-body fleet consists exclusively of nine Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners, with an average age of 9.1 years, showcasing the airline's commitment to modernity and comfort in its long-haul operations.

Leading the list is the Nairobi (NBO) to New York (JFK) route, offering 35 flights this month, totalling 60 million ASMs. The daily flight departs NBO at 23:35 and arrives at JFK the next morning at 07:35, with an additional Saturday morning flight departing at 08:15 and arriving at 16:45. This route is codeshared with Delta Air Lines, providing seamless connections for passengers.

The NBO to London Heathrow (LHR) route follows closely, with 30 flights and nearly 30 million ASMs. The daily flight departs NBO at 08:55 and arrives in London at 16:25, with a flight duration of 9 hours and 20 minutes.

British Airways and several other airlines, including Delta, Virgin Atlantic, Iberia, and American Airlines, operate codeshare flights on this route, highlighting the importance of this connection.

The NBO-to-Amsterdam (AMS) route ranks third, with 30 flights and over 29 million ASMs. The daily flight departs NBO at 08:40 and arrives in AMS at 16:40, with a flight time of nine hours. KLM operates a daily flight on this route using the 787-10, the largest variant of the Dreamliner family. Both airlines' codeshare partners also advertise and sell tickets on the route, demonstrating a strong partnership between Kenya Airways and KLM.

The NBO to Paris Charles De Gaulle (CDG) route comes in fourth, with 30 flights and over 28 million ASMs. The daily flight departs NBO at 23:50 and arrives in Paris at 07:30, with a flight duration of 8 hours and 40 minutes. Air France also operates a daily flight on this route using the Boeing 787-9, highlighting its competitive nature.

Lastly, the NBO to Johannesburg (JNB) route offers 61 flights onboard its 234-seater 787-8, totalling over 25.7 million ASMs. Kenya Airways operates two out of four daily flights using the 787-8, with South African Airlink competing on the route using its Embraer 190 jet.

Kenya Airways' codeshare partners, including Delta and Saudia, advertise and sell tickets for the route, highlighting the importance of this connection.
