Jamia Mosque Secretary-General Abdulbari Hamid honoured with National Hero Award
The award was presented by Charles Wambia, Chief Executive Officer of the National Heroes Council, on behalf of President William Ruto, during a ceremony held at the Jamia Mosque Multipurpose Hall in Nairobi.
Jamia Mosque Secretary-General, Abdulbari Hamid, has been honoured with a National Hero Award and a Certificate of Recognition for his outstanding service to the nation.
The award was officially presented on Tuesday by Charles Wambia, Chief Executive Officer of the National Heroes Council, on behalf of President William Ruto, during a ceremony held at the Jamia Mosque Multipurpose Hall in Nairobi.

The occasion marked a proud moment for both the Jamia Mosque fraternity and the wider Muslim community.
Abdulbari was among 184 distinguished Kenyans recognised by President Ruto during this year's Mashujaa Day celebrations in Kitui County, for their exceptional contributions to national development, humanitarian work and community empowerment.
In a statement, the National Heroes Council commended Abdulbari for his unwavering commitment to public service and philanthropy.
"As the Secretary-General of Jamia Mosque Nairobi, Mr Hamid has spearheaded numerous humanitarian projects - from providing housing for displaced families and donating wheelchairs to persons with disabilities, to distributing food and medical aid to vulnerable communities," the Council noted.

During the event, Wambia praised Abdulbari's leadership and lifelong dedication to uplifting the less privileged.
"The National Heroes Council takes great pride in recognising Kenyans who have made tangible and lasting contributions to our nation. We are committed to ensuring that such recognition reaches every corner of the country, including the grassroots," he said.
On his part, Sheikh Muhammad Warfa, Chairman of the Jamia Mosque Committee, expressed gratitude to the National Heroes Council, saying the recognition was not only a personal honour for Mr Hamid but also for the entire Jamia community.
"We are truly grateful to the National Heroes Council for recognising the selfless service and leadership of our Secretary-General, Brother AbdulBari Hamid. This award is a shared honour for the entire Jamia Mosque fraternity," he said.
In his acceptance remarks, Abdulbari dedicated the award to the staff and leadership of Jamia Mosque Nairobi, acknowledging their support in advancing community-centred initiatives.
"This award belongs to the Jamia family - the staff, leadership, and all who work tirelessly to serve humanity. I am truly humbled," he said.
