Isiolo County government and KDF collaborate in airlifting aid to flood-affected areas

The County Government of Isiolo, in collaboration with the Kenya Defence Force (KDF), conducted an airlift operation today to deliver essential food and non-food items to areas severely affected by flash floods in the county.

The distribution will benefit at least 626 households in Bassa, 500 in Sericho, 635 in Erasaboru, and 75 in Gubatu.
This joint effort between the County government and KDF aims to airlift supplies to the affected areas over the next three days. Hassan Abdulah Dawah, Chief Officer of Special Programs, assured residents that the County government has devised a contingency plan to support over 12,000 households impacted by the floods in Isiolo.

Mr. Abdulah emphasized that special attention would be given to areas like Ires Haboru and Bassa, where entire villages have been marooned by floods, leaving residents in urgent need of food supplies. Bisharo Hassan, Chief Officer of Public Health, mentioned that the County has also dispatched drugs, mosquito nets, and other items to provide relief to families affected by the floods.
The Office of Special Programs reiterated its commitment to addressing flood-related cases and providing support to hundreds of affected families in the area.
