The second/final revision targets previous applicants who did not secure a course or those yet to submit their course selections.
"KUCCPS official portal has re-opened for applications to unfilled programmes in universities, Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions and Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC). The deadline is April 25, 2024," the placement service said on X.
The Service noted that applicants who have already secured a course should wait for the release of placement results after all applications are processed.
The first application period took place between February and March this year where 2023 candidates who scored above C+ were able to make their applications.
Any Form Four leaver with any KCSE mean grade from the year 2000 to 2023 and who has never enrolled in a tertiary institution can also apply for a TVET course.
Students who scored mean grades of between C and E are eligible to apply for diplomas, craft certificates, or artisan programmes in public technical and vocational education and training institutions.
By March 1, 2024, Kuccps noted that 144, 102 (72.2 per cent) of the 199,695 students who attained a mean grade of C+ and above in the 2023 KCSE exams had applied for the desired course.
Based on the application behaviour of the 2022 KCSE candidates, the placement service targets 173,178 (86 per cent) of the students with C+ above to apply for placement this year.
The processing of applications for placement will start once the targeted number of applicants has submitted their course choices.
Under the new application format, the cost of all programmes offered in all the universities has been displayed on the portal to enable the students and their families to make decisions on their choices.
When Kuccps completes the placement process, it will open doors for students to apply for funding through the Universities Fund which is in charge of scholarships, and the Higher Education Loans Board which is in charge of student loans. All these are allocated based on the individual needs of the students.
