Following their heavy defeat to Kakamega Homeboyz, Nairobi City Stars weren’t the only side to endure a tough weekend, as KCB fell to a determined ten-man Sofapaka.
The match sprang to life in the first half when Jack Ong’anya struck to give Sofapaka a 1–0 lead at the break. The game took a dramatic turn in the 67th minute when Charles Junior was sent off, leaving Batoto ba Mungu to battle with ten men.
Despite the numerical disadvantage, Sofapaka held firm and sealed the win late on as Edward Omondi’s goal secured a 2–0 triumph. The result added another twist to an unpredictable FKF Premier League campaign.
AFC Leopards edge Mara Sugar with stoppage-time winner
AFC Leopards secured a thrilling 2–1 victory over Mara Sugar FC, with Kayci Odhiambo netting a decisive goal in the 97th minute.
Ingwe took the lead in the 25th minute when Ovella Ochieng' delivered a pinpoint free-kick, forcing a goalkeeping error that allowed Peter Maker to head home. Mara Sugar had a chance to level from the spot, but their penalty rattled the crossbar, keeping AFC Leopards ahead at the break.
The hosts eventually found their equaliser through Noah Jagongo’s header from a corner. However, just as the match seemed destined for a draw, Odhiambo rose highest from a set piece in stoppage time, securing all three points for AFC Leopards in dramatic fashion.
Talanta stun Bandari 3–2
Talanta FC claimed a 3–2 victory over Bandari FC, just days after Bandari coach Ken Odhiambo dismissed Sofapaka’s win last weekend, saying they played with “supermarket balls.”
Bandari started brightly, with former captain Bernard Odhiambo opening the scoring. However, Beja Nyamawi equalised before half-time, making it 1–1 at the break.
Talanta came out firing in the second half, quickly restoring their lead at 2–1. But Nyamawi, determined to lift his side, completed his brace to level matters at 2–2.
Just as Bandari looked to have salvaged a point, Talanta struck again, sealing a dramatic 3–2 win and leaving Bandari to rue their missed chances.
Wamalwa brace powers Ulinzi Stars past Murang’a Seal
Ulinzi Stars came from behind to claim a 2–1 victory over Murang’a Seal, thanks to a brace from Enosh Wamalwa.
The hosts took an early lead through Joe Waithera’s well-taken finish, but Ulinzi responded swiftly. Boniface Muchiri set up Wamalwa for the equaliser, making it 1–1.
The striker then completed his double after a precise assist from captain Brian Birgen, sealing the comeback win and a crucial three points for Ulinzi Stars.
Kenya Police outgun Bidco United to stay top
Kenya Police FC maintained their title charge with a composed 2–0 victory over Bidco United, keeping them level on points with Tusker FC but ahead on goal difference.
After a goalless first half, new signing Mohamed Bajaber announced his arrival in style, opening the scoring in the 69th minute. Three minutes later, David Simiyu doubled the lead, putting the result beyond doubt.
Bidco pushed forward in search of a response, but Kenya Police’s defence stood firm, securing an important win as they remained top of the FKF Premier League standings.
