New date set for Junior Starlets' training camp in Spain

The Junior Starlets' training camp in Spain has been rescheduled, giving the Kenya U17 Women’s team more time to prepare for their debut at the 2024 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup. Set to begin on September 19, 2024, the camp comes just weeks before the team heads to the Dominican Republic for the prestigious tournament.
The Kenya U17 Women's football team, also known as the Junior Starlets, will begin their training camp in Spain on September 19, 2024, following a postponement from the original September 10 date. Football Kenya Federation (FKF) announced that the extra time will help the team sharpen their preparations on home soil.
Currently in their seventh day of training, the Junior Starlets are gearing up for their historic debut at the 2024 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup in the Dominican Republic. The tournament runs from October 16 to November 3, 2024.

Team captain Elizabeth Ochaka highlighted the importance of their qualification: "This is a major achievement for us, being the first Kenyan team to qualify for the World Cup. We aim to compete and make a mark, not just show up."
Ochaka also noted the potential opportunities the tournament could bring for the players: "Playing on such a stage can open doors for international opportunities, which has been a dream for many of us."
The Junior Starlets' group stage fixtures include England on October 18, Korea DPR on October 20, and Mexico on October 24.
