In an address in parliament that went viral on social media, Adongo compared Bawumia to Maguire, who he described as "the biggest threat at the centre of the Manchester United defence".
But earlier this week, Adongo said Maguire had "turned the corner".
The lawmaker took back his analogy and publicly apologised to the England international for the comments he made last year, praising Maguire as a 'transformational footballer' for overcoming his struggles of last season.
Maguire on Wednesday replied to a video on X, formerly Twitter, which showed Adongo's apology.
"MP Issac Adongo apology accepted. See you at Old Trafford soon," Maguire said.
“Today, Maguire has turned the corner and is a transformational footballer”
