"Field administration of theory papers and practicals was successfully undertaken between Tuesday 22nd October and Friday 22nd November 2023. During this period, 10,754 centres with registered candidates were served from 610 distribution centres. The double collection of first and second-session papers was successful thus eliminating the challenge of early exposure that a few centres used to engage in," said Njeng’ere.
In 2023, the Ministry of Education introduced the double collection of examination papers policy to curb cheating.
The policy ensures exam centre managers return the morning scripts to the supervisor after the students are done with the first session papers. The managers then collect the second session paper at 12.30 pm to be administered from 2:00 pm.
"We want to commend all stakeholders who supported us in the implementation of this innovation. Through your help, we have been able to completely do away with the early exposure of exams with no single case being reported for the past two years," remarked Njeng’ere.
The CEO also commended the 2024 KCSE candidates who also sat their KCPE exams in March 2021 at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic.
"We want to commend the 965,512 candidates who registered for the KCSE examination in 2024. Your resilience to pursue education despite the many challenges that have interrupted your journey is very admirable," noted Njeng’ere.
