Foreign national killed in traffic incident involving Ruto's presidential convoy on Ngong road

A man was on Thursday killed after being allegedly hit by a speeding presidential convoy along Ngong Road, near Adams Arcade.

Witnesses report that the victim, described as a middle-aged white man, was attempting to cross the busy road when he was struck, seemingly unaware of the approaching vehicles.
A senior police officer familiar with the matter described it as an unfortunate accident.
The National Police Service has since launched an investigation into the incident.
Social media reports suggest that a vehicle, allegedly part of President William Ruto’s motorcade, struck and killed a pedestrian along Ngong Road near Adams Arcade.

In a statement, NPS Spokesperson Muchiri Nyaga confirmed that investigations are already underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
"The police have urged anyone with relevant information to come forward and report to the nearest station or contact the NPS through their toll-free emergency numbers 999, 911, 112, or #FichuakwaDCI 0800 722 203. Additionally, authorities have reiterated the importance of road safety, calling on motorists, pedestrians, and all road users to exercise extreme caution to prevent such tragedies in the future," the statement read.
The body of the deceased has since been moved to the City Mortuary, where an autopsy is expected to be conducted.
Meanwhile, President William Ruto is in Kibra for a meet-the-people tour aimed at strengthening his unity pact with former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
Ruto was commissioning various development projects in both Kibra and Lang’ata constituencies on Wednesday.
He was accompanied by Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja and several leaders from Nairobi County.
