Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof Kiplagat Kotut, said the University is actively engaging with UASU leadership, the Ministry of Education, and other relevant parties to address staff concerns through constructive dialogue.
"We acknowledge the concerns raised by UASU and affirm that the University Council and Management are actively engaging with the Union leadership, the Ministry of Education, and other relevant stakeholders to address the issues through constructive dialogue," said Kotut.
"Our objective is to resolve all matters amicably, in a manner that safeguards the welfare of staff while ensuring that learning and research activities proceed without disruption."
The University confirmed that preparations for the reporting of first-year students on Thursday, August 21, 2025, will continue as planned.
Students have been urged to remain focused on their studies while the administration works to ensure that all learning and research activities remain on track.
"We reiterate that teaching, examinations, research, and all academic programmes are continuing as scheduled. This includes preparations for the reporting of our First-Year Students on Thursday, August 21, 2025, which will proceed as planned."
Moi University highlighted its commitment to professionalism, transparency, and accountability in all dealings, noting that it continues to uphold the values that have made it one of Kenya’s leading institutions of higher learning.
While the strike notice reflects ongoing challenges between academic staff and university management, Moi University stressed that dialogue remains the preferred route for resolving disputes. The institution affirmed that it will take all necessary steps to prevent any disruption to students’ academic progress.
