Shock as mutilated bodies of mother, daughter, and niece from Eastleigh found in separate locations

The bodies of three women, a mother, her daughter, and her niece, were found in different locations on Tuesday. The women, identified as Waris Daud, her 21-year-old daughter Amina Abdirashid, and her 12-year-old niece Nuseiba Dahir, from Eastleigh, were brutally murdered by unknown assailants.

The bodies of the three women were discovered separately. Waris's mutilated body was found in Machakos, Amina's in Parklands, and Nuseiba's in Buruburu.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the killings, which have sent shockwaves across Nairobi.

Speaking to Eastleigh Voice, Sumeya Noor, a relative of the victims, recounted their last moments. According to Sumeya, Waris had felt unwell on Monday evening around 7 pm. She informed her daughter Amina and niece Nuseiba that she was going to the hospital to seek medical attention.

At around 9 pm, Amina called her mother to check on her whereabouts. Waris reassured her daughter that she would be back soon. When Waris failed to return home after a few hours, Amina and Nuseiba decided to go to the hospital where their mother had gone, but they never returned.

The following morning, Sumeya and other family members received the devastating news. First, they were informed that Amina's body had been discovered in Parklands, followed by the discovery of Waris's body in Machakos, and later, the body of 12-year-old Nuseiba in Buruburu.

"It's tragic. We don't know what to do, and no one is helping us get justice for our relatives," Sumeya told Eastleigh Voice.

Athi River South Sub-county Police Commander, Philis Muthoni, provided more details about the discovery of Waris's body.

"Her body had multiple deep cuts, and it appeared that her killers used a sharp object to take her life," Muthoni said.

Waris's wrists had been cut off and were not found at the scene. She also had deep cuts on her face, her ears had been mutilated, her eyes gouged out, and her neck was almost severed.

Muthoni noted that Waris's body was found near Alim Secondary School along the Kyumbi-Machakos road within the Kyamutheke area in Kinanie Division.

"Members of the public reported a female body lying near the school, and police officers, along with crime scene personnel from Machakos, responded to the scene," Muthoni said.

It is suspected that Waris was murdered elsewhere, and her body was dumped near the school. Further examination revealed that she had been sexually assaulted, with injuries inflicted on her private parts.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has launched an inquiry into the incident.
