Mandera Governor assesses El Nino damages, assures residents of timely interventions

Mandera Governor Mohamed Aden Khalif on Sunday led an impact assessment team to assess the damages of the El Nino rains in Mandera municipality.
The governor, county executives and county technical team visited Malka Suftu water supply intake witnessing the devastation of floods on Mandwasco water infrastructure.

The governor toured the flooded farms along Malka Suftu and roads damaged by floods at Malka Punda before finally visiting a damaged bridge at Corner B and several damaged residential houses.
The governor said the tour was aimed at assessing the impacts of the ongoing El Nino rains and the progress on the interventions made by the county government.
He promised long-term and short-term interventions to address the damages to the livelihood and infrastructure of the residents.
