KDF engages Wajir leaders to bolster security along Kenya-Somalia border

Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) troops stationed in Diff, Wajir South Sub-County, hosted a Key Leaders' Engagement (KLE) in Diff town on Saturday to strengthen stability along the border.
The forum brought together security agencies, administrative leaders, and community representatives in a joint initiative aimed at enhancing peace and security along the Kenya-Somalia border.

In a statement, KDF stated that the meeting served as a platform for open dialogue, fostering collaboration between local leadership and security forces to address emerging security concerns in the region.
Major Martin Kasinga, who spoke during the engagement, emphasised that ensuring security is a collective responsibility.

He underlined the need for inclusive cooperation between government agencies and the local population to achieve lasting peace.
Echoing this message, Sub-County Security Committee Chairman Omar Hussein stressed the importance of continuous collaboration and information sharing between the community and security organs to maintain stability.
Community leaders who spoke during the meeting applauded the commitment of KDF and other security agencies in protecting the region, and pledged their support in promoting unity, resilience, and peaceful coexistence.
The engagement underscores KDF's ongoing efforts to integrate community involvement in security initiatives, build public trust, and foster a safe environment conducive to social and economic development.
