KUCCPS opens TVET applications for September 2025 intake

The portal will be accessible between July 14 and July 31, 2025, allowing eligible KCSE certificate holders from the years 2000 to 2024 to apply for placement in various artisan, craft and diploma programmes.

Thousands of youths across the country have a new opportunity to join government-sponsored technical training programmes after the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) reopened its application portal for the September 2025 intake into TVET institutions.

The portal will be accessible between July 14 and July 31, 2025, allowing eligible KCSE certificate holders from the years 2000 to 2024 to apply for placement in various artisan, craft and diploma programmes offered by accredited Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) colleges across the country.

In a notice issued by the KUCCPS Chief Executive Officer, the agency said the move supports the government’s commitment to increasing youth access to practical skills and helping achieve full transition from basic to technical education.

“This initiative is part of the efforts to equip more youths with hands-on skills to enable them to become self-reliant,” read the statement.

Minimum entry qualifications for the TVET programmes are set at grade E for artisan certificate (Level 4), D for craft certificate (Level 5), and C– (minus) for diploma (Level 6). KUCCPS has emphasised that all applications must be submitted online through the Students’ Portal at students.kuccps.net, where detailed guidelines are also available.

Importantly, the placement body announced that no application fee will be charged this time, making the process more accessible to all interested candidates.

“The application fee has been fully waived to promote equal opportunity for all eligible students,” KUCCPS said.

Applicants who may require help during the process are encouraged to visit any public TVET institution or Huduma Centre for assistance. They can also reach KUCCPS through the phone numbers 0205137400 or 0723954927, or email [email protected] for further enquiries.

KUCCPS urged all eligible individuals, especially those who missed earlier application windows or have delayed joining college after KCSE, to take advantage of the window to secure training opportunities in diverse technical fields.
