Vini Jr leads Real Madrid to a statement win over Girona FC

The blockbuster game of Matchday 24 was the duel between the top two teams in the LaLiga standings, Real Madrid and Girona FC. It ended up being a very convincing win for Real Madrid, as Los Blancos overcame the Catalan side 4-0 thanks to a superb performance from Vini Jr, who opened the scoring with a brilliant long-range strike before creating the following three goals as well.

Bellingham is already the top-scoring Englishman in Real Madrid history

Two of the goals that Vinícius set up against Girona FC were for Jude Bellingham, who has now reached 20 goals in all competitions in what is his debut season for Real Madrid. This means that Bellingham is already the joint-top English scorer in the club’s history, having matched the 20 goals scored by David Beckham and Laurie Cunningham.

Sevilla FC may have found their saviour in the form of Isaac Romero, the 23-year-old striker who has been brilliant for Los Nervionenses since being promoted from the B team. Romero has now scored or assisted in each of his past four league matches, including scoring the only goal in his team’s 1-0 victory over Atlético de Madrid in Matchday 24.

Barça and Granada CF play out a 3-3 thriller

The Sunday night game this week saw FC Barcelona take on Granada CF and the two teams played out a thrilling 3-3 draw at the Estadi Olímpic in Montjuïc. Lamine Yamal was brilliant as he both opened and closed the scoring, in this game which ended as a draw.

The 3rd clubs conference takes place in Tarragona

During the past week, the III clubs conference took place near the city of Tarragona in Catalonia. This is an annual event at which the professionals working at LaLifa clubs can meet and discuss ideas, while several talks were held to highlight the progress made as part of the BOOST LALIGA project, the structure put in place to direct and organise how the almost €2 billion in CVC funds will be spent to strengthen and boost Spanish football in the future.
