Besigye’s defence had argued that the trial was invalid, citing the alleged abduction and Uganda’s lack of jurisdiction over events that took place in Kenya.
Karua, who was one of Odinga’s most loyal allies, protested his decision to have his ODM party join Ruto's administration.
The opposition politician was abducted and then taken forcefully to Kampala before getting charged in court.
She asserted that the action was in line with the Inter-Parties Parliamentary Group (IPPG) amendment, which she believes required the president to be sworn in immediately after being declared the winner.
“I can confirm firmly that Boniface Mwangi has been freed with no charges. Wife, children, and friends were there during his release,” Hussein Khalid said.
Karua further expressed worry that arrests and abductions of Kenyans voicing their expression on governance have continued even after the protests.
"This is not a police camp. This is somebody's home, and the family wants to live in peace without disturbance," Karua stated.
In contrast, the former Gichugu MP noted that working with ODM party leader and Azimio Chief Principal, Raila Odinga was easy because he gave room for discussions.
She stated that the Narc Kenya party is slated for a bigger mission, aiming to harness its strength.
According to the party, the notice is effective from the date of the letter.
The members claimed the timing of these arrests raises suspicion since they occurred amidst criticism by the Mathare Justice Center of the government's handling of the flood crisis.
The leaders said there are several pertinent issues about the unfortunate accident that must be investigated exhaustively.
