"We launched a community-wide hygiene promotion campaign that reached 1,976 households in the North Horr and Moyale sub-counties. We shared important tips on how to prevent cholera, stay clean, and keep water safe through local meetings called "barazas" and radio shows," the organisation said.
These initiatives were conducted in close partnership with the county public health department and community health officers.
By utilising local leadership and radio broadcasts, Food for the Hungry ensured that families received the necessary information to protect themselves and their loved ones.
To further reduce the risk of cholera and other waterborne diseases, the organisation distributed water treatment solutions to the same 1,976 households, impacting 51 communities in Marsabit County.
