In an update, the Kenya Red Cross confirmed the incident, noting that emergency teams—including the Nairobi Fire Brigade, Kenya Red Cross Action Team, and a local Community-Based Response Team—had been deployed to the scene to contain the blaze.

“A fire has broken out at Embakasi Girls in Mukuru, affecting one of the dormitories. Firefighting efforts are currently underway,” the Kenya Red Cross said.
