Search for killers

Investigations into the murder are ongoing, with police appealing for information from the public to aid in the search for the killers.

Aisha, 48, was attacked around 3 am on Sunday at her residence in Utange Mkunguni. The attackers, two unidentified men, gained access to the compound by cutting through the kitchen window grill.

Armed with a crowbar and a knife, they launched a violent assault, leaving Aisha with a deep wound in her head above her right eye.

Her 18-year-old son, Khasim Hassan, also sustained head injuries while trying to fend off the assailants.

The attackers made away with several items, including a Samsung A15 mobile phone, a 65-inch Samsung TV, a sound system, an iPad, a Samsung A21 phone, and other valuables.

Khasim managed to drive his mother to Premier Hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival. He received treatment for his injuries and remains hospitalised in stable condition.

Officers from Bamburi Police Station, alongside detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations in Kisauni, have launched an investigation into the attack. The suspects are yet to be apprehended.
