NCIC announces CEO vacancy to oversee commission

The National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) is on the hunt for a new Commission Secretary/Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead its Secretariat and advance its mission of promoting national harmony and equality among Kenya's diverse ethnic communities.

In a notice on Tuesday, the NCIC outlined the qualifications and responsibilities for the highly sought-after role.

According to the Commission, the CEO will be the principal administrator of the NCIC and will serve as the chief advisor to the Commission.

The successful candidate will replace Harrison Kariuki who is the current acting CEO.

The role involves overseeing the day-to-day management of the Commission's affairs and staff, ensuring the organization fulfils its mandate to foster peaceful co-existence and provide expert advice to the government on cohesion-related issues.

"The Commission Secretary/Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will perform such other functions as may be assigned by the Commission and the law," the NCIC stated.

Applicants must meet a set of strict requirements, including a Master's degree in a relevant field from a recognized institution and a minimum of 18 years of experience in a related field, with at least eight years in a senior management position.

Additionally, candidates must demonstrate leadership qualities and integrity as outlined in Chapter Six of Kenya's Constitution, 2010, and show a commitment to the national values enshrined in Article 10.

"The Commission is looking for a highly professional and self-driven individual who is committed to promoting cohesion and integration within the country," the Commission said.

Interested individuals are encouraged to submit their applications through the NCIC's official application portal by 5 pm. on February 4, 2025. More details regarding the job specifications and application procedures are available on the portal.
