Eight shortlisted for National Police Service Commission chair, interviews set for early July

Eight people have been shortlisted for the position of Chairperson of the National Police Service Commission, as the Public Service Commission moves to conduct interviews between July 1 and July 3, 2025.
Eleven others have been shortlisted for the Member position, with all interviews set to take place at the commission’s offices on Harambee Avenue, this is according to a notice issued on Friday in the local dailies.

A new commission will take over after former commissioners, led by Eliud Kinuthia, exited office early this year following the expiry of their six-year term.
A selection panel was sworn into office in February to start the process of recruiting the new commissioners.
The eight shortlisted for the chairperson include John Muriithi Waiganjo, William Otieno Oketch, Anne Waceke Makori, Jonathan Lodompuinoon, Simon Nabukwesi, and John O. Konchellah, who are scheduled to be interviewed on Tuesday, July 1, at different times throughout the day.
Matilda Pamela Aleyo and Amani Yuda Komora will appear on Wednesday, July 2, at 9:00 am and 10:00 am, respectively.
Four candidates for the member post, Ahmed Mohamed A, Buluma Bwire, Elizabeth Mueni Kimulu, and Maina Njoroge, will be interviewed on July 2 at different times. The remaining seven, Daniel Mwangi Karomo, Adan W. Kabelo, Angeline Yiamiton Siparo, Wayongó Cyril Simiyu, Musangi Jane Mutua, Parmain Ole Narikae, and Shaabnan Ali Isaack, will be interviewed on July 3, also at different times.
The PSC has directed all candidates to report at least 20 minutes before their scheduled time and to carry original copies of their National Identity Card, academic and professional certificates, transcripts, testimonials, and any other supporting documents.
Shortlisted individuals must also present valid and current clearances from the Kenya Revenue Authority, Higher Education Loans Board, Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission, Directorate of Criminal Investigations (Police Clearance Certificate), and any registered credit reference bureau.
Those with degrees from foreign universities must provide a letter of recognition from the Commission for University Education, while those in regulated professions must submit recommendations from relevant professional bodies where applicable.
Members of the public have also been invited to submit any credible information concerning the candidates through affidavits.
