Mohamed was ranked 13 as Wajir Governor Ahmed Abdullahi and his Garissa counterpart Nathif Jama missed out on the list.

Mandera Governor Mohamed Khalif was the only county boss from the North Eastern region featured in the top 25 list in the latest Infotrak poll.

Mohamed was ranked 13 as Wajir Governor Ahmed Abdullahi and his Garissa counterpart Nathif Jama missed out on the list.

According to the Infotrak poll released Tuesday, Mohamed was ranked 13 with a score of 61 per cent tying with governors Anyang' Nyong'o (Kisumu), Wavinya Ndeti (Machakos), Muthomi Njuki (Tharaka Nithi) and Jonathan Leleliit (Samburu).

In the poll, Governors Gladys Wanga (Homa Bay) and George Natembeya (Trans Nzoia) were ranked the top-performing governors with a score of 70 per cent.

Rounding off the top three list is Simon Kachapin from West Pokot who had a score of 67 per cent.

Kisii's Simba Arati, Murang'a's Irungu Kang'ata, Turkana's Jeremiah Lomurkai and Makueni's Mutula Kilonzo all tied in the fourth position with a score of 64 per cent.

Dubbed the CountryTrak Performance Index 2023, the survey was conducted between July and September 2023, covering all 47 counties, 290 constituencies and 1,450 wards with an overall sample size of 58, 748.

The data was collected through Computer Assisted Telephone Interviews (CATI).

"This index is the first of its kind and magnitude in Kenya. It provides the county governments and other interested stakeholders with robust statistics by ward on the perception of county residents over county governors' performance," Infotrak said.
