Three Maadili School pupils killed, 37 injured in Murangá accident
One of the pupils died at the scene of the accident while two others perished as they were undergoing treatment at Murang'a Level 5 Hospital.
Three pupils died Saturday in an accident on Murang’a-Gitugi Road involving a Maadili Junior School and Kindergarten bus.
Murang’a police commander David Mathiu confirmed the report, saying 37 injured people were taken to Murang'a Level 5 Hospital.

The pupils from Kiambu County were heading back to school from Nyeri County, where they attended a scouts' event.

County dispatched its fire and ambulance services to render support to the victims.

"The road accident which occurred at about 6 pm involving a school bus belonging to Maadili Schools," Muranga County Commissioner Joshua Nkanatha said.
"The bus overturned seriously injuring children who had to be rescued by a multi-agency team comprising the NGAO, the National Police Service, the county government and the Teachers Service Commission."
Murangá Governor Irungu Kangáta who visited the injured at the hospital said the county had dispatched its fire and ambulance services to render support to the victims.
