All Cabinet Secretaries, except Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, were sent home barely two years after they were appointed.

Several Cabinet Secretaries have thanked President William Ruto for allowing them to serve in his government. This is after the president dissolved his Cabinet, retaining only Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi on Thursday.

Ruto said he dissolved his Cabinet after keenly listening to what the people of Kenya have said and a comprehensive assessment of his administration's performance.

All Cabinet Secretaries, except Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, were sent home barely two years after they were appointed. Attorney General Justin Muturi was also not spared as he was also sent packing.

A few hours after the announcement, the State House of Kenya removed the names of the fired CSs from its website (www.president.go.ke).

A spot check by the Eastleigh Voice revealed that the section of Cabinet under the website featured only the names and images of the President, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi and Secretary to the Cabinet Mercy Njau.

While reacting to the President's decision, some of the CSs thanked the president for allowing them to serve under his administration, while others edited their social media bio that highlight their positions.

Former Defence CS Aden Duale noted that he will forever be indebted to Ruto and the people of Kenya for allowing him to serve Kenya.

"I extend my heartfelt gratitude to President William Ruto for entrusting me with the role of Cabinet Secretary for Defence in the first Kenya Kwanza Administration. I am deeply honoured and will forever be indebted to him and the people of Kenya for this opportunity to serve our great nation. As the Quran says, “But they plan, and Allah plans. And Allah is the best of planners” (Quran 8:30)," he said in a tweet.

Former Environment and Climate CS Soipan Tuya said the decision was in the nation's best interest amid public pressure on the government's conduct.

"Anything that paves the way for the best interest of our Nation, at this point, is preeminent. I most sincerely thank President Ruto for the privilege, honour and opportunity to serve my country at the helm of the Environment, Climate Change and Forestry docket, for the last 21 months. My heart is full of gratitude," she said.

Former ICT CS Eliud Owalo said; "I thank President Ruto for granting me the opportunity to serve my Country as Cabinet Secretary. I owe him a great debt of gratitude for the same."

Other former CSs like Moses Kuria who was stationed at the Performance and Delivery docket resolved to edit his X Bio from his CS position to; 'Awarded HSC by President Mwai Kibaki, 12th December 2009'.

While thanking the President, Tourism CS Alfred Mutua said his role provided him with a unique opportunity to contribute to the betterment of the country and to advocate for the preservation of nation's rich natural heritage.

"Serving as a Cabinet Secretary in the Tourism Ministry under the esteemed leadership of President William Ruto has been a profound honour. I am deeply grateful for the trust placed in me and the chance to work alongside dedicated colleagues committed to promoting our country’s Tourism potential and wildlife conservation," he said.

After firing the CSs, President Ruto said Principal Secretaries in the departments would continue handling the operations of the government.

He also noted that he will engage in extensive consultations across different sectors and political formations, with the aim of setting up a broad-based government that will assist him in accelerating and expediting the necessary, urgent and irreversible, implementation of radical programmes.

Former Gender and Culture CS Aisha Jumwa also thanked the President, stating, "It was such an honour to serve as a Cabinet Secretary in the Ministry of Gender, Culture, the Arts and Heritage under the leadership of President William Ruto. I am glad that I got the chance to serve the people of our great nation. Thank you, Mr. President, and I wish you well."
