"Reference is made to the above and a letter from the Chief of Staff and Head of the Public Service (Ref: SH/GM/ 22) dated December 19, 2023 (enclosed) conveying approval for the appointment of Mr David Mugonyi as the Director General of the Communications Authority of Kenya," reads the letter from CS Owalo to the CA Board Chairperson Mary Wambui.
The letter dated Wednesday was copied to the Head of Public Service Felix Koskei and the PS Broadcasting and Telecommunications Prof Edward Kisiangáni.
In September, Chiloba had been suspended following an internal investigation that accused him of financial impropriety.
Chiloba and nine other top officials at CA are said to have allegedly mishandled mortgages and allowances running into millions of shillings.
The chairperson later appointed Christopher Wambua as Chiloba's replacement in an acting capacity.
