Kenya to benchmark for agribusiness skills at a global forum in Russia

This is in a bid to promote Kenyan agricultural potential and stimulate the strategic relations between Kenya and Russia.

Kenya's participation at the forum will also seek to give new impetus to the commercial and economic partnership and promote investment cooperation between the two countries.

Dubbed the ASIAEXPO 2024, the platform is billed as an integrator of international cooperation in the agricultural sector in the context of global reorientation of markets.

The summit will host countries across the globe that depend on agriculture to spur their economic growth from October 23 to 25, 2024 in Sochi, Russia.

It will convene more than 200 companies from Russia, China, India, and former member states of the Soviet Union to present the latest achievements and innovations in the agricultural world.

This is from crop and livestock production to innovative feed technologies.

The exhibition will also focus on farm animals, equipment and technology for crop production, and veterinary drugs as well as modern developments in the fields of aquaculture, poultry farming, pig breeding, and horse breeding.

Nevertheless, it will feature a showcase of agricultural equipment and machinery.

Chief Executive Officer of ASIAEXPO Igor Milovanov, said the exhibition aims to raise agriculture to a qualitatively new level, to enable agro-industry to prosper and strengthen.

He further indicated that ASIAEXPO2024 is fully committed to supporting the agriculture and livestock sectors in Kenya in particular, and in Africa in general through public-private partnerships; transfer of skills in science, technology, and innovation, and promotion of cooperation with African states.

This is to increase agricultural productivity and strengthen nutrition and food security.

Chairperson of the African Peace and Security Union (APSU) Roll Stéphane Ngomat, noted the importance of transforming African agriculture for food security and peace on the continent.

"A prosperous Africa based on inclusive growth and sustainable development is possible thanks to a radical transformation of African agriculture to enable the continent to feed itself and to be a major player as a net exporter of food products," Ngomat said.

"Food self-sufficiency is a key factor and solution for peace and stability on the continent."

The ASIAEXPO – 2024 is the largest exhibition and business fair for the agropastoral sector in Russia and in the former member countries of the Soviet Union which allows debate on the current state of the sector and its future development, its trends, to sign partnership agreements and contracts.
