Regarding corruption allegations in the Judiciary, Koome stated that such claims should be presented to the JSC rather than discussed in public events. She pledged to engage with the Executive and Legislature to obtain information on corruption claims and address them within the appropriate procedural framework.
In a separate public statement as the Chairperson of the JSC, Koome expressed concern at the vilification of judges issuing orders unfavorable to the government. She stressed that both the Judiciary and the Executive are equal arms of government, and judges will continue with their mandates without fear or favor, disregarding attempts at intimidation.
