Angry mourners refuse to listen to DP Kindiki's speech at Murang'a burial

Murang’a Governor Irungu Kang’ata and Kirinyaga County Speaker Muteti Murimi faced a tough time to quell angry mourners during the burial of the late nominated MCA Mark Gicheru Wainaina in Kirogo, Kiharu constituency, on Saturday.
The mourners booed and interrupted their attempts to read condolence messages from President William Ruto and Deputy President Kithure Kindiki.

Recognising the hostility, the presiding priest stepped in and urged calm.
“Let us maintain peace in this service, thank you,” he appealed, suggesting that Murimi hand the message directly to the family. Amid cheers and applause from the mourners, Murimi obliged and took his seat.
Governor Kang’ata, observing the mood, opted not to read President Ruto’s condolence message. Instead, he addressed the gathering briefly, stating, “Let me also request that I hand the speech of the President to the family.”
He then passed the document to Wainaina’s relatives, avoiding further interruptions.
On November 13, severe pulmonary disease, which led to lung failure, claimed the life of the late Mark Wainaina, known for his dedication to public service.
Despite the disruption, the priest and family managed to restore decorum, ensuring the service concluded peacefully.
