The National Police Service (NPS) has denied claims they had arrested former Limuru MP Peter Mwathi over the chaos witnessed at a burial event on Thursday in Limuru, Kiambu County.

The incident which happened at Bibirioni Boys High School, Limuru, forced mourners to flee for safety after unidentified individuals began throwing objects and chairs.
The disruption happened while former Limuru MP, Peter Mwathi addressed the crowd.
According to a statement from the Office of the Inspector General, the police on Friday said that they did not arrest Mwathi because he is not a person of interest in the case.
In response to the mayhem that occurred, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Limuru has launched a probe to identify those responsible for the chaos.
As part of the investigation, their officers are currently recording statements from family members of the deceased.
"We call upon anybody with information that may aid in the arrest of the suspects that invaded the burial to report to the nearest police station," read the statement from Police Spokesperson, Resila Onyango.
The disruption at the funeral has drawn widespread condemnation, particularly among some in the political class.
