Interior Cabinet Secretary Prof. Kithure Kindiki on Thursday declared a personnel change at Harambee House, aiming to augment service delivery across the country. In a statement to newsrooms, Kindiki announced that  Njenga Miiri has been appointed as Principal Administrative Secretary, Internal Security to replace Wilson Njega who retired last year.

Additionally, the Interior CS announced the immediate transfer of 12 county commissioners to different locations across the country. They are: Abdirisack Jaldesa, Mohamed Nur, Erastus Mbui, Joshua Nkanatha, Jacob Ouma, and Henry Wafula. The remaining six include Kipchumba Rutto, Onesmus Kyatha, Susan Waweru, Apollo Okello, Hiram Kahiro, and Patrick Mukuria.

Jaldesa has been transferred from Mombasa to Nyandarua, while Nur has been posted to Mombasa from Tana River. Mbui has been transferred from Kitui to Laikipia, while Nkanatha will serve in Murang'a from Kitui. Ouma and Wafula have been transferred to Meru and Makueni from Turkana and Samburu, respectively.

Rutto has been moved to Kitui from Busia, while Kyatha and Waweru have been transferred to Samburu and Siaya from Nyamira and Nairobi, respectively. Okello has been reassigned to Rift Valley from West Pokot, while Kahiro and Mukuria will serve in Kwale and Kisii from the Ministry's Nairobi headquarters and Murang'a, respectively.

The Interior Minister subsequently announced the recall of five county commissioners to the Interior Ministry's headquarters in Nairobi. They include Mohamed Barre (formerly based at Nyandarua Ministry Headquarters), Joseph Kanyiri (previously at Laikipia Ministry Headquarters), Isaac Masinde (formerly stationed at Narok Ministry Headquarters), Tom Anjere (previously assigned to Kisii Ministry Headquarters), and Jude Wesonga (formerly at Kajiado Ministry Headquarters).

Kindiki further mentioned that 24 county commissioners have received directives to maintain their current job postings. They are: Josephat Biwott (Kilifi), Louis Rono (Lamu), Josephine Onunga (Taita Taveta), Karuku Ngumo (Wajir), Amos Mariba (Mandera), Nobert Komora (Marsabit), Geoffrey Omoding (Isiolo), Wesley Koech (Tharaka Nithi), Jack Obuo (Embu), Josephine Ouko (Machakos), Pius Murugu (Nyeri), and Tobiko Naiyoma (Kirinyaga).

The rest include Gideon Oyagi (Trans-Nzoia), Eddyson Nyale (Uasin-Gishu), John Korir (Elgeyo-Marakwet), Caroline Nzwili (Nandi), Stephen Kutwa (Baringo), Loyford Kibaara (Nakuru), Dr. Ahmed Omar (Bomet), Gilbert Kitiyo (Kericho), Felix Watakila (Vihiga), Thomas Sankei (Bungoma), Moses Lilan (Homa Bay), and David Gitonga (Migori).

A dozen deputy county commissioners have also been promoted to county commissioners, according to the Interior Minister. They are: David Koskei (moved from Masinga to Tana River), Mohamed Ramadhani (relocated from TransMara to West Garissa), Julius Kavita (transferred from Kirinyaga Central to Turkana), Khalif Abdillahi (moved from Nakuru West to West Pokot), Reuben Lotiatia (reassigned from Mt. Elgon to Narok), and James Taari (transferred from Kajiado North to Kajiado).

The rest include Mwangi Meru (Kwale to Kakamega), Mwachaunga Chaunga (Turkana West to Busia), Benson Leparmorijo (PA/RC Central to Kisumu), Duncan Darusi (Narok West to Kiambu), John Cheruiyot (Ministry Headquarters to Nyamira), and David Wanyonyi (Mathira East to Nairobi).
