Kenya Lionesses coach Dennis Mwanja has named the squad that will represent the country during the third leg of the 2025 HSBC Women’s Challenger Series set to take place in Krakow, Poland, from 11 to 12 April.

Mwanja has made only one change to the squad that won the first and second legs of the series, which were held in Cape Town, South Africa, on March 1-2 and March 7-8.

Phoebe Akinyi will be the new face in the squad as she takes the place of Faith Livoi.

Captain Grace Okulu, who was the Lionesses’ best points scorer during the Cape Town tournament with 42 points from eight tries and one conversion, will continue to lead the team.

The other players to retain their place in the squad are Freshia Oduor (22 points; four tries and one conversion), Judith Okumu (20 points; four tries), Sinaida Nyachio (17 points; one try and six conversions), Naomi Amuguni (15 points; three tries), Sharon Auma (15 points; three tries), Sheila Chajira (five points; one try), Stella Wafula (five points; one try), Christabel Lindo (zero points), Moreen Muritu (zero points), and Diana Awino (zero points).

Lionesses have been drawn in Pool A for the Krakow leg of the series. The team will face Belgium, Thailand, and Colombia in their pool-stage matches, all scheduled for Saturday, 11 April.

Having already defeated Belgium (17-5) and Colombia (12-5) in the Cape Town leg, Kenya will look to continue their dominance and extend their lead at the top of the standings.

Lionesses currently lead the overall rankings with 40 points, six more than second-placed South Africa and 10 ahead of Argentina and Colombia, who are third and fourth, respectively.

The top four teams will qualify for the HSBS SVSNS promotion play-offs set for 3-4 May in Los Angeles, USA, at the end of the Krakow leg, which will feature eight teams.
