Turkana receives emergency hunger relief as drought bites harder
The parched plains of Turkana County saw a glimmer of hope today as the first shipment of relief food arrived. Procured by the County Government to combat the escalating hunger crisis, the initial consignment of 5,100 metric tonnes of maize and 3,073 cartons of vegetable cooking oil will be distributed to vulnerable households through designated Food Distribution Points (FDPs) once safety inspections are complete.
