Kwale County embarks on ambitious affordable housing development initiatives
The government has conducted surveys in various camps across Kwale County for upcoming affordable housing projects. In Matuga Kwale town, a survey camp has been established for the construction of 200 housing units.
The government has conducted surveys in various camps across Kwale County for upcoming affordable housing projects. In Matuga Kwale town, a survey camp has been established for the construction of 200 housing units. Similarly, in Msambweni Diani White House, another 200 units are planned, and in Msambweni Mabokoni Smart City, an ambitious project of around 5000 housing units is underway.
Governor Fatuma Achani of Kwale made this announcement during a briefing by senior officials from the Ministry of Lands, Public Works, Housing & Urban Development. The briefing, led by Coordinator Housing Coast Region, John Karanja, included updates on the progress of these affordable housing projects.

A courtesy call was made at Governor Achani's office in Kwale by the ministry officials. During the meeting, Governor Achani expressed her satisfaction with the collaboration between her office and the state department, emphasizing the significant progress made in establishing the housing projects in all the designated sites.
Governor Achani also revealed that, in collaboration with the Kwale government, the Ministry is working on the establishment of the Diani modern market, as well as markets in Lunga Lunga and Kinago. These initiatives reflect a comprehensive approach to development and infrastructure in Kwale County.
The governor was accompanied by Saumu Beja Mahaja, the CEC for Environment and Natural Resources, underscoring the importance of environmental considerations in these development projects.
