Police praised the quick coordination of the raid and reaffirmed their commitment to public safety.
There have been violent robberies and armed incidents across parts of Garissa and Tana River counties, with stolen firearms increasingly linked to criminal activity, according to police sources.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations attributed the surge to organised gangs exploiting porous borders and remote terrain to traffic weapons and stolen goods.
Authorities warned that such crimes not only threaten residents but also undermine counter-terrorism and anti-banditry operations in the North-Eastern region.
To address the challenge, security agencies have prioritised enhanced intelligence-led patrols, targeted raids, and inter-agency coordination aimed at dismantling criminal networks before they escalate.
