Isiolo residents embrace hope as free medical camp opens doors

Over 2,000 residents of Isiolo County beamed with hope today as a six-day free surgical and medical camp kicked off. Gracing the opening ceremony at the Isiolo KMTC grounds, First Lady Habiba Galgalo commended the dedication and passion of the medical team, hailing their commitment as "touching lives, offering hope, and embodying the compassionate spirit of serving."

The camp, a joint initiative between the County Government through the First Lady's office and the Muslim Association of University of Nairobi, aims to address the diverse health needs of Isiolo residents. With a team of 12 doctors drawn from Nairobi hospitals and the County health facility, the camp offers free consultations, medications, and access to advanced medical equipment, catering to a wide range of health issues.

Already, at least 30 successful surgical operations have been performed, showcasing the expertise and dedication of the medical team. Chief Officer Medical Services, Abdiraman Muhammad, urged residents to seize this opportunity, saying, "Take advantage of this free care and prioritize your health by participating in the ongoing camp."

The initiative received enthusiastic support from various stakeholders, including Chief Officer Public Health Bisharo Hassan, sponsors, and the management of Isiolo County Teaching and Referral Hospital and Isiolo KMTC Campus.

This medical camp signifies a beacon of hope for Isiolo residents, providing much-needed access to critical care and reaffirming the spirit of compassion and service within the community.
