At a lively public forum held at the Kamukunji Innovation Hub, residents of New Pumwani Estate in California celebrated the progress made on long-awaited upgrades to their local feeder roads.

Led by Kamukunji Constituency Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KeRRA) Board Chairperson Patrick Njenga Kihara, Chairperson California Estate Residents Committee, and Eastleigh South location peace and security Committee member Jackson Lee Muturi, the forum gathered traders, officials, and community members to discuss the details of the project and address potential concerns.

The Lamu Dishes/Muzdalifah Academy feeder road, the New Pumwani Primary/Market feeder road, and the Dezza feeder road are set for revitalization. These critical arteries serve businesses and connect vital amenities within the estate and neighboring business hubs such as Eastleigh and Gikomba.

Recognizing the potential temporary disruption during construction, the forum prioritized open communication and collaboration. Traders whose businesses might be temporarily affected by the work expressed their full support for the long-term benefits of improved infrastructure. "We understand the inconvenience," said James Kariuki, one of the traders in attendance. "Better roads mean better access for our customers and, ultimately, a boost for our businesses," added Kariuki.

Officiating the forum, the Area Assistant Chief of California Sub-location, Angela Nzioki, emphasized the importance of community engagement in such projects. "Your voices matter," she stated, "and your cooperation is crucial for the success of these upgrades."
